The Tokyu Group held a press conference at The Capitol Hotel Tokyu (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) on January 14th, 2025.
In his opening remarks, Mr. Hirofumi Nomoto, Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Tokyu Corporation, mentioned the commercial facility "Tokyu Plaza Harajuku "Harakado", the complex "Shibuya Sakura Stage", and the complex "SHIBUYA AXSH" (all in Shibuya-ku, Tokyo), which opened in 2024. "Last year, Shibuya became the number one city in Tokyo visited by foreign tourists, and I hope that the number of people who want to revisit Shibuya will increase with these facilities," he said.
Mr. Masahiro Horie, President and CEO of Tokyu, continued, "The Tokyu Group has been engaged in urban development for the past 100 years from a long-term perspective, and the development around Shibuya Station will be largely completed in the 1930s. We would like to continue to improve the value of the entire area by investing the funds collected along and from the Shibuya line again in the Shibuya area."
