On July 18, Tokyu Corporation held a press briefing to introduce the "Kamiikedai Tokiwasou Room" (Ota Ward, Tokyo; 55 rooms), a share house for aspiring manga creators operated in collaboration with the non-profit organization LEGIKA. The facility allows creators and students to live together while pursuing their debut as manga artists, offering both physical and community-based support for creative activities.

Located a 14-minute walk from Nishi-Magome Station (Toei Asakusa Line) and a 16-minute walk from Senzokuike Station (Tokyu Ikegami Line), the building is a five-story reinforced concrete structure. Originally built in 1975 as company housing for Tokyu Store Co., Ltd., it was renovated in 2014 and operated as the share house "Stairio Wiz Kamiikedai."

LEGIKA has been running the Tokiwasou Project, a manga artist development initiative that rents detached houses and apartment complexes in the Tokyo metropolitan area, allowing aspiring creators to live and grow together. Currently, LEGIKA operates six facilities, each housing around 60 residents. Over 20% of current residents have experience with serialized manga publications, and more than 60% have won various awards. LEGIKA will now manage Tokyu’s share house, overseeing rentals and community support. This facility will be the largest in the Tokiwasou Room network, featuring the most extensive shared spaces.

While retaining much of the original layout from its previous share house days, the private and communal areas have been updated. Rooms are located on the 3rd to 5th floors, with 52 rooms measuring 8 square meters and 3 rooms measuring 16 square meters. Of the smaller rooms, 34 can be used as shared "ateliers" for 2 to 4 people. Rooms do not have water facilities but come equipped with air conditioning, beds, clotheslines, storage shelves, and optional desks and chairs.

The second floor (500 square meters), which includes the main entrance, houses shared amenities such as a kitchen, lounge, 24-hour co-working space, tatami area, personal lockers, storage units, shower rooms, laundry facilities, and toilets. Each floor also includes a toilet, laundry area, and washroom. The fifth floor is designated as a women-only area.

In addition to organically formed communities, LEGIKA actively encourages resident interaction. Creators with similar goals are grouped in the same atelier, and regular critique sessions are held with top editors. Exchange events with other Tokiwasou Room residents are also planned. For the first time, the facility will accept students in partnership with Japan Kogakuin.

Tenant recruitment is underway for the July 1 opening. Monthly rent ranges from ¥46,000 to ¥59,500, with management fees between ¥13,500 and ¥20,000. All shared facilities are free to use. More than 10 tenants have already been confirmed. LEGIKA Chairperson Fumie Kosaki commented, “A calm living environment is essential for creators’ work and growth, but if that’s all there is, performance may decline. We’re taking on the challenge of offering unprecedented support, including opening shared spaces to former residents.”
