Recruitment of Model Projects for Measures Against Land with Unknown Owners, etc. / Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) started accepting applications on the 16th for the "Model Project for Measures Against Land with Unknown Owners, etc. for FY2025."

To facilitate the use and proper management of land with unknown owners and vacant lots, the national government will provide partial support for the activities of specified non-profit organizations, general incorporated associations, general incorporated foundations, and private businesses that are taking the lead in addressing issues related to unowned land. This includes facilitating the designation of "Unknown Land Use Facilitation Promotion Corporations" and utilizing vacant land. The knowledge and results gained through this support will be utilized in policy-making.

The target area is not restricted. The implementation period of the initiative is from the date of issuance of the notification of the decision of the target initiative to March 8, 2026. The subsidy amount is up to 2 million yen (including tax) per group. However, if certain conditions are met, it can be raised to 3 million yen.

Applications will be accepted until 5 p.m. on June 16. For details, please refer to the materials published by the ministry.
